Congratulations Warriors on finishing the 2023 open!

Whether it was your first or your thirteenth you did it – the open is no easy task and making it through is a huge accomplishment.  You should all be proud of your time, grit and dedication.

Now is a great time to take a closer look at your performance and determine what you need to work on.  No matter how you did, we all have areas to work on and ways we can look to improve performance.  Strengthening your weaknesses and focusing on problem areas can help you become an even better athlete.  Effectively working to turn your weakness to a strength.

First and foremost, it’s key to be specific about what you want to achieve. Specificity is of the utmost importance when goal setting – you want to make your goals specific (what are we trying to achieve? how will we know once we’ve achieved it? what does success look like?) and measurable (where did we start? Progress made? how much further to go).  Being intentional in your training will help you stay focused and motivated to work on your goals. For example your goals should sound more like “I want to be able to complete 10 unbroken pull ups” or “I want to improve my Fran time by one minute and less like “I want to be fitter”.  Having a clear goal will help you stay focused and motivated.

GOAL SETTING WORKSHOP:

If you’re looking for some assistance or support with goal setting or maybe aren’t sure where to even start – feel free to pull on any one of our coaches – we are here To help get you to those goals!

We will also be holding a Goal Setting Session Workshop on Saturday April 29th at 11:40am

Once you have your goals set, it’s time to start working towards them. In the near future, we will be offering “Master Classes” tailored to your specific needs and goals. Whether it’s working on specific movements, increasing your strength, or improving your conditioning, there are plenty of ways to make progress towards your goals.

When it comes to achieving your goals, consistency is key. Make sure to attend classes regularly and stick to your training plan as much as possible. It’s critical to track your progress and celebrate your successes along the way. Part of setting your goal is being able to measure your successes along the way – each day, each improvement no matter how small it may seem is a step in the right direction! Stay accountable and see how far you’ve come by keeping a workout journal or using Beyond The Whiteboard!

Finally, don’t forget to have fun! CrossFit is an excellent way to push your limits, challenge yourself, and achieve your goals. Don’t let the difficulty discourage you – use it as an opportunity to take your fitness to the next level!
