We get a lot of questions for first time visitors, or those who are looking to join our community. Check out your first class structure below and drop any questions you have in the comments or DM us!

🏋🏻‍♂️ Meet & greet with the coach of the day
🏋🏻‍♂️ A guided warm up - tip: check out BYTWB (beyond the white board) or the actual while board/screens in class to see the steps
🏋🏻‍♂️ Part 1: Strength - the coach will help warm up whatever the strength of the day is (Front Squat, Power Snatch) before heading into the timed sets
🏋🏻‍♂️ Part 2: Metcon - this is your workout - sometimes an AMRAP (as many rounds as possible), For Time etc.
🏋🏻‍♂️ Sometimes we'll also have some conditioning - ab work, skills etc.

Double Unders: elusive, requires lots of practice,

Double Unders: elusive, requires lots of practice, but, once you have them - you're golden. A few things to remember when you're trying to master this move:

📿 Keep your elbows attached to your sides
📿 Jump as high as you can (suspend yourself in the air)
📿 It's all in the wrists
📿 Practice, practice, practice

Every year we see double under in the CF Open and this year was no exceptions.

🏋🏻‍♂️How were you introduced to CrossFit & How long have you been doing CrossFit?
I started watching CrossFit Games documentaries at the beginning of the pandemic, and I’ve since followed competitions and Games seasons as a regular fan. I was determined to start doing CrossFit myself once the pandemic was over and I got my health stuff in order, and I’ve happily been doing CrossFit for about 4 months now – and LOVING it!

🏋🏻‍♂️What made you decide to join our Gym?
I wanted to find a CrossFit gym that had a good coaching staff and a strong sense of community. This was really important for me, as I would be starting CrossFit after recovering from a few injuries, and I really wanted to re-start my fitness journey with a strong network of support and enthusiasm! After reading through the websites of all GTA boxes, CrossFit Colosseum stood out to me as one of the highest quality gyms, with very experienced coaches and a strong emphasis on holistic fitness, health & wellbeing. I was also really excited that the gym hosts Olympic weight-lifting coaching, as this training is what I was most looking forward to!

🏋🏻‍♂️Favourite Lifts/ WODs? Why?
I love a good deadlift, although I’ve been really enjoying working on my snatch.
Any AMRAP is a favourite, because seeing how many rounds I complete – especially if it’s a repeated WOD – is a good way to keep track of my fitness improvements!

🏋🏻‍♂️3 Things you would find in my fridge?
Iced tea, strawberries, and ingredients for making delicious Thai food J
What is your guilty pleasure?
Binge-watching “Grey’s Anatomy”…and caramel popcorn

🏋🏻‍♂️Proudest Accomplishments?
Learning to ride a bike when I was 27 – never too late to learn a new skill!

🏋🏻‍♂️Something people wouldn’t know about me?
I can play the Pipe Organ (so can my sister J)

🏋🏻‍♂️What music I like listening to while working out?
Pop & Hip hop hits!

🏋🏻‍♂️How were you introduced to CrossFit & How long have you been doing CrossFit?
My friend started doing CrossFit about a year before I started and she was really enjoying it. Curiosity got the best of me, and it’ll be 2 years of CrossFit for me in a few months (June).

🏋🏻‍♂️What made you decide to join our Gym?
Moved to the area from downtown in August and needed a new CrossFit gym. Everyone always talked about how big and impressive CFC is, and it didn’t disappoint.

🏋🏻‍♂️Favourite Lifts/ WODs? Why?
Power cleans and split jerks. I’ve surprised myself a few times with heavy lifts.

🏋🏻‍♂️3 Things you would find in my fridge? Pickles, bubly (sparkling water), and rosé

🏋🏻‍♂️What is your guilty pleasure?
Reality TV

🏋🏻‍♂️Proudest Accomplishments? Completing my first Rx open workout…24.1! Also in 2019 I ran two half marathons after breaking my ankle in January.

🏋🏻‍♂️Something people wouldn’t know about me?
I love to travel! Most recent big trip was my boyfriend and I went to Ecuador in October for two weeks.

🏋🏻‍♂️What music I like listening to while working out?
The louder the volume and the heavier the bass the better. I need the music to block out the pain from the workout.
